Recruiternet to Sponsor Human Capital Institute's Effective Hiring Learning and Research Track
Washington, D.C. – January 10, 2005 – The Human Capital Institute (HCI) today announced that Recruiternet, a leading provider of applicant tracking and talent management solutions, will sponsor the "Effective Hiring" learning and research track under its Talent Acquisition Community.
Recruiternet’s sponsorship of the "Effective Hiring" learning track will lead to the development of new research on the topic, initiated through the formation of a thought leader panel comprised of industry experts and practitioners. The panel will look at current progress, ideas, trends, best practices and solutions/services available or under development, and will form recommended strategies to help guide organizations in their decision-making and business-case development. These strategies will be delivered to the HCI member community in the form of white papers, webcasts, and through HCI’s annual conference.
For effective hiring to be possible it must encompass well-understood and executed practices, strategies and technologies. Hiring combines elements of selection, including screening/assessment, interviewing and background/reference checking. It requires elements of investigation, selection science and intuition. Effective hiring also means transitioning a new hire from candidate to team member and ensuring an efficient hand-off from the recruiting and HR teams to the line manager.
"Hiring effectively is a considerable concern to employers, because even one bad or mishandled hire can hurt an organization both financially and culturally. The ability to hone your practices so that excellent hiring decisions and efficient transitions are the norm is very valuable," said Allan Schweyer, executive director of HCI. "As a solutions provider, Recruiternet recognizes the need for better strategies and its support of this research is critical."
